Board ratifies TTEA contract: 2% COLA for 2026–27, 2.25% for 2027–28 plus language on planning days and AI protections

The Tigard‑Tualatin School District board ratified the collective bargaining agreement with the Tiger‑Twitan Education Association (TTEA) on June 22, finalizing compensation and several clarified contract provisions.
Director Reed summarized the agreement: a 2% cost‑of‑living increase for the 2026–27 school year and a 2.25% increase for 2027–28, in addition to routine step and column increases for eligible staff. Health and welfare contributions will also rise per prior district patterns. The agreement incorporates language on planning days, clarifies supports and compensation for content‑area leaders (e.g., middle‑school and elementary music and PE), and provides protections related to digital recording and the use of artificial intelligence.
Other contract changes include a formalized process for class size/case load review and remedies, supports for elementary split/blend classrooms, tuition reimbursement and column advancement for speech‑language pathologists, and clarified grievance and complaint procedures. Director Reid thanked TTEA representatives and HR staff for concluding the agreement prior to the school year.
A motion to approve the collective bargaining agreement effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028 was moved, seconded and passed by voice vote. The board authorized the superintendent or designee to execute the agreement.
