At its May 14 meeting the Waterford Conservation Commission addressed a notice of violation for work at 22A Avery Lane after contractor and property owner David Waddington spoke to the panel.
Waddington told the commission that construction began in winter and that much of the work involved removing dead and downed trees and underbrush south of the house. He said the contractor’s clearing extended beyond the non-encroachment boundary but did not enter the wetland itself. Waddington said he had walked the site with town staff and agreed to take steps to return the area to compliance.
The commission approved the corrective actions listed in the notice of violation and directed that a surveyor mark the non-encroachment limits on site and that the property owner submit a proposed restoration plan for the affected area within 30 days.
