Patty Veil Overman Patton (speaker S12) read a letter thanking the Board of Supervisors for its effort to research the wind-turbine project and for taking the time to have conversations with residents. "It's no secret the concerns that this project brings with it," she said, and added that it is "very disheartening that landowners get accused of being greedy when all they want to do is use the land that they own and be the most productive they can with it." Patty told the board she appreciated responses from two supervisors and encouraged continued public engagement.
Earlier, Colin (speaker S5), who identified his address on the record as 1614 Cambr(y) Drive, thanked department heads and county staff and praised the board's attempts to be fiscally responsible. "They work really hard. They really do," Colin said.
At adjournment the chair (S1) told attendees a work session on the wind ordinance would begin in about five minutes. The public comments and the scheduled work session position the board to continue discussion of wind-related rules in a non-voting forum; no ordinance amendments or votes were taken in the public meeting portion captured in the transcript.
