Cody Rawden told the commission that the inaugural Dayton Black Rodeo drew more than 4,000 people and created opportunities for local vendors and small businesses. "More than 4,000 people attended the rodeo," Rawden said, and he credited city staff and Dayton Police for safety planning and positive interactions with attendees.
Rawden said about 60 vendors participated and that media partners and volunteers helped make the event successful. He thanked the city and Commissioner Beckham by name for attending and supporting the event. The organizers said they are preparing next year's rodeo and exploring ways to expand community impact year-round.
