Merrimack County commissioners approve lease move, personnel reclassification and multiple operational agreements

The Merrimack County Board of Commissioners approved a series of administrative and operational items during its June 8 meeting in Boscawen.
Office Manager Deanna Fortier presented an amendment to the NHAC Lease Agreement to relocate the leased premises to the Edna McKenna Community Corrections Center effective Aug. 31, 2026; the board approved the amendment by voice vote. Director of Administrative Services Jen Ridlon and Human Resources Director Wendy Heath introduced a revised Administrative Assistant job description and requested reclassification to Administrative Coordinator (Labor Grade 8 to 9); the board approved the reclassification.
Assistant Superintendent Jessica Riendeau and Superintendent Garrett Jewell requested authorization for a recent‑graduate hiring incentive for individuals hired within 90 days of graduation; the board approved the program and the county will promote the incentive through social media and recruitment partners. The board also approved a one‑year housing agreement with the Rockingham County Department of Corrections to house female prisoners, with Rockingham County covering associated costs.
Facilities Director Dustin Muzzey sought approval to proceed with asbestos abatement and lead‑based paint removal in the MSU building before renovations; the board approved work to be performed by EnviroVantage under an existing State contract. Development Coordinator Kara Coffey requested permission to submit an application to the NH Juvenile Court Diversion Network (NHJCDN); the board approved submission of the grant application.
