Raymore staff preview Raymore 250 events, public art and fireworks permit rules

Parks staff reported a busy slate of activities: the weekly farmers market (about 30 vendors) at TB Hannah Station, a Bricks & Block party on June 25 with an unveiling of more than 150 veterans honor bricks, Rock the Ridge on June 26 coordinated with the Chamber of Commerce, a Raymore 250 fun run/walk, a Spirit of America event on July 3 with a fireworks display and a parade on July 4. Parks staff said they will deploy parking crews and designated handicap parking to manage anticipated larger crowds, and that the fireworks show is planned to proceed unless severe weather creates danger.
Communications staff described a citywide scavenger hunt launching June 23 with 10 stops and prizes, a July 8 blood drive at Centerview, and a temporary public sculpture installed at Memorial Park titled "The Feathers Three" by artist Kirxes (on display through spring 2028).
City Clerk Erica Hill reported the clerk’s office had received six fireworks-sales applications that meet requirements in section 215 of the Raymore City Code. She said sales permits will be issued after inspection by Development Services and the fire marshal; sale and discharge hours were summarized on the record (sales June 28–July 4, discharge July 1–3 and July 4 with specified hours).
Council members praised recent concerts and encouraged residents to attend upcoming events; staff emphasized safety and logistics planning for the holiday weekend.
