The Lincoln County Abatement and Response Program (ARP) told commissioners on June 25 that it responded to 62 hotline calls, processed 445 utility‑locate tickets and conducted 85 site visits between January 1 and June 30.
ARP staff reviewed completed work including attic‑space abatement, exterior removals and full‑house demolition at specified Libby and Troy addresses and listed several ongoing or planned abatement actions: sampling and abatement work at mine‑affected properties, contaminated stockpile removal, and oversight of development at the port property. The program also reported plans for ambient air baseline sampling next summer at four monitoring stations and soil baseline sampling for approximately 10 properties near OU3 and the MKM village to support post‑fire comparisons.
ARP noted it participated in the Card Scientific Advisory Group meeting and that the Lincoln County EPA public meeting is scheduled for July 15; topics listed for that meeting include the five‑year review, public‑health emergency status, partial deletions, OU3 status and fuels and forest management updates.
ARP staff warned that workload is increasing with construction season: "If it gets any more busy, I got to hire a fourth," the ARP presenter said, noting pressure to keep work from slipping through the cracks.
The board received the report; no formal action was taken at the session.
