Trustees of the Sweetwater Union High School District on June 22, 2026, reported a series of closed-session personnel actions and adopted the district's proposed budget for fiscal year 2026–27.
The clerk announced that a motion by Trustee Emerald, seconded by Trustee Lopez Peda, to approve the reinstatement of one student passed with trustees Emerald, Lopez, Lopeza and Solis recorded as "yes" and one member noted as absent. The clerk also read motions taken on multiple certificated leave requests: in separate motions trustees denied two leave requests and approved another; each motion recorded the same pattern of "yes" votes from the four present trustees and an absent member.
Earlier in the meeting the board moved and approved the consent agenda and approved the meeting agenda by voice and roll-call votes with the same attendance pattern. At the close of the meeting the board adopted the district's proposed 2026–27 budget after a presentation by CFO Dr. Sel. Dr. Sel told trustees the state legislature had reached an agreement that was awaiting the governor's action and that finalized amounts will be incorporated into the first interim report in August.
The votes were announced aloud by the clerk; the transcript records the movers, seconders and an oral roll-call tally but does not include a written roll-call sheet in the public record excerpt provided. The board adjourned after adopting the budget.
