Attorney Dwight Merriam, civil engineer Brandon Handfield of Yantic River Consultants, architect Rocco Petitto of QA +M Architecture, and landscape architect Biff Schechinger, ASLA, described design updates and responses to prior board recommendations. The presentation focused on site layout and aesthetic treatments intended to meet PAD design expectations.
Board members asked follow-up questions about site details and specifically requested additional screening — either fencing or enhanced landscaping — around the dumpster area to reduce visibility and potential nuisance. The review was preliminary and nonbinding; no formal board decision or referral was recorded on the PAD application at this meeting.
