During the June 11 legal counsel update, commissioners discussed current wildfire conditions across Josephine County and noted that fire danger levels had been elevated to Moderate.
Commissioner Ron Smith, Commissioner Colene Martin and Commissioner Gary Richardson emphasized public awareness efforts, the location of evacuation zones and the importance of residents enrolling in the county’s emergency notification system. They encouraged community members to become familiar with evacuation information and preparedness resources as wildfire season progresses.
