Olentangy board approves consent items, personnel slate and donation; president appointed to Delaware Area Career Center board

At the June 24 meeting the Olentangy Local Schools board approved a slate of treasurer and superintendent consent items, accepted donations and confirmed personnel and administrative actions.
On the treasurer consent agenda the board approved May 2026 financial reports, the final 2025–26 appropriation resolution and initial 2026–27 temporary appropriations. The board also accepted a $95,000 donation from the Olentangy Education Foundation (OEF) and a separate $1,200 anonymous donation to Liberty High School to cover student fees.
The superintendent consent agenda included certified and classified HR items, substitute and program salary schedules effective July 1, 2026, athletic and academic supplementals, and a resolution to opt into the Ohio direct‑admission pilot; those items were approved by roll call.
After an executive session to discuss personnel and appointments, the board considered an appointment to the Delaware Area Career Center Board of Education. President Brandon Lester moved to accept the seat and stated he would refuse any compensation for the role. Board members discussed alternate approaches and whether to conduct a broader search for a long‑term representative; the motion to appoint Mr. Lester carried (three yes, two no). The board recorded votes by roll call in the minutes.
Next steps: Personnel actions slated for July 9 (retire‑rehire approvals and other administrative employment recommendations) will return for formal board action; administration will continue to process donations and implement approved salary schedules.
