East Ridge council adopts FY27 budget with no tax increase, approves several procurement bids

Procurements and resolutions: Council approved a series of resolutions to restore or continue city services and purchases: • Resolution 3825 — Awarded the city’s brush chipping and grinding services bid to Lumberjack Tree Services at $465 per hour (plus a 10% revenue share on mulch/wood material). • Resolution 3826 — Accepted annual street materials bids (rock, asphalt, pipe) for FY26–27; staff noted several line items are handled through other procurement approaches when in‑stock materials are available. • Resolution 3827 — Accepted a bid for masonry sand (used for athletic‑field topdressing at Camp Jordan) from TJ Hunt LLC at $46.50 per ton, a $1.50/ton increase over last year. • Resolution 3828 — Approved cancelling the July 9, 2026 council meeting because a majority of council members will attend the Tennessee Municipal League conference; the council confirmed the city charter requirement of one meeting per month will still be met with the July 23 meeting.
