On June 19 the Laredo City Council approved a package of smaller matters including $150,000 from District 4 priority funds for the Lupita Boches Memorial Community Wellness and Recreation project and approved two final readings amending the zoning map and an ordinance related to an animal control substation on the southside.
The park funding (item 8) was moved, seconded and approved without recorded opposition. Two final readings — one amending the zoning ordinance map for Lot 20, Block 5 (Sierra Vista Police Station plat) and a separate ordinance amendment (2023‑223) related to an animal control substation — were taken and approved on final reading after staff confirmed prior public hearings and second readings had occurred.
With these votes and the earlier items addressed, the mayor adjourned the meeting.
