Cabell County Commission approves FY 2013–2014 financial statement

Nancy Cartmill, president of the Cabell County Commission, called a special meeting at 10:00 a.m. Oct. 7. The commission unanimously approved its FY 2013–2014 Financial Statement after a brief presentation by Rebecca Haddox, the county accountant.
Haddox presented the statement and said the accompanying footnotes "would be presented at a subsequent meeting, as was the usual practice." She also stated that "upon approval of the Commission, the Financial Statement would be published in the October 9th edition of the Cabell Standard." The commission did not vote on the footnotes during the special meeting.
Before the financial statement vote, Commissioner Anne Yon moved to approve the meeting agenda; Commissioner Robert L. Bailey seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Yon then moved to approve the FY 2013–2014 Financial Statement; Bailey seconded and the commission voted unanimously to approve the statement. The recorded votes consisted of the three commissioners present: Nancy Cartmill, Robert L. Bailey and Anne Yon. County Attorney William Watson was listed as absent.
The special meeting lasted approximately three minutes and was adjourned by Cartmill at 10:03 a.m. The commission's next step, as stated in the meeting, is to present the footnotes to the financial statement at a subsequent meeting prior to or alongside formal publication.
