Polk County’s Board of County Commissioners moved on Jan. 6 to close the county’s COVID American Rescue Plan (ARP) Fund and directed the County Treasurer to transfer any remaining balance to the General Fund.
Commissioner Boruch moved for the closure and transfer; Chairman Westring seconded the motion and the roll call vote was Boruch, aye; Westring, aye; Boss, aye. According to the meeting minutes, all federal ARP funds received by the county had been dispersed and any remaining balance represented interest earned in the account.
The minutes do not specify the dollar amount of the remaining balance. The board’s action instructs the treasurer to complete the transfer of the remaining ARP fund balance to the General Fund.
