Polk County commissioners approve routine claims; approve $28,800 Boruch Masonry payment with abstention

Chairman Jerry Westring convened the Polk County Board of County Commissioners on Oct. 21, 2025, and the board audited and approved a slate of county claims presented for payment.
Westring moved to allow the audited claims, excluding the claim submitted by Boruch Masonry Construction, LLC; Commissioner Boss seconded, and the roll-call vote recorded Westring, aye; Boss, aye; Boruch, aye, carrying the motion to permit the other claims and warrants to be drawn against the listed funds.
In a separate motion, Westring moved to approve the Boruch Masonry Construction claim for crushed concrete and authorize a warrant to be drawn on the Road Fund; Boss seconded. The roll-call vote on that motion was Westring, aye; Boss, aye; Boruch, abstain. The motion carried and the county will issue payment to Boruch Masonry Construction, LLC in the amount listed in the Road Fund claims.
The Road Fund claims listing submitted to the board includes a $28,800.00 service entry for Boruch Masonry Construction, LLC. Other vendor and payroll claims for General Fund, Road Fund and other county funds were reviewed and approved as presented.
The board’s actions were recorded in the meeting minutes; the board adjourned at 11:35 a.m. and will meet next on Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, 2025.
