The Historic Preservation Advisory Commission authorized an alternative plan for the Vinegar Jones Cabin at its May 13 meeting after the committee reported delays.
The committee said Steve Taylor’s recovery from hip replacement has delayed application of a protective coating. As an alternative, members discussed enlisting an Eagle Scout to perform the coating work. Commissioner Rich Ecke moved to authorize Commissioner Ken Seivert to advance the alternative plan; Commissioner Meghan Kelly seconded, and the motion passed. The commission noted a cleanup date will be scheduled and circulated a sign-up sheet for opening the cabin during band concerts.
The action delegates project coordination to Commissioner Seivert and relies on volunteers; no budget appropriation or contractor engagement was recorded in the minutes.
