The Board of Commissioners approved an amended Temporary Construction Easement with the LaPrele Irrigation District (LID) on June 16, 2026 to allow staging and material handling during the LID dam replacement project.
HDR and RESPEC representatives reviewed proposed amendments that clarify staging locations, material handling (providing materials but not repairs for specific sites), cleanup after construction, and potential use by the County of excess materials generated by the dam project. County staff discussed the possible need for a separate contract with Montana Civil to protect county permit status and reviewed access‑road alignment considerations to Natural Bridge Park.
Commissioner Donald Blackburn moved to approve the Amended Temporary Construction Easement as presented for consideration of $10.00 and other considerations; Commissioner Rick Grant seconded and the motion carried. The easement includes terms intended to protect county infrastructure and establish expectations for cleanup and material transfer where permissible.
County staff will follow up on access‑road location, coordination with the LID project manager, and any separate contracting necessary to preserve permit requirements.
