Premier Lakes reports lower decibel level at Masters Lake but board to study aerator tone; Edgewater plantings delayed

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the River Ridge board on July 23 that seasonal algae was observed and that routine maintenance has been performed, including removal of a palm tree from Lake E7A. Kurth said installing a cabinet around the compressor reduced the measured sound level at Masters Lake "from 64 to 52 decibels," which he described as acceptable at the measurement mid‑point between the compressor and the screen line. "The sound level has been reduced from 64 to 52 decibels," Kurth said.
Operations Manager Shane Willis said the remaining concern is not the decibel level but the tone of the aerator. Willis and Kurth will coordinate to consider moving the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting. Kurth also said scheduled plantings are on hold for Lake E4‑A because the Edgewater Association has not yet agreed to the proposed littoral plantings; Supervisor Bob Schultz recommended scheduling a meeting with the Edgewater association to work toward a mutually acceptable solution.
No formal action or expenditure to relocate equipment or to proceed with plantings was approved at the meeting; staff will bring recommendations back after additional review.
