Joanna Artisone, a resident, told the Muncie Sanitary District at its June 24 meeting that trash collection at 1331 West Kilgore has been inconsistent after staff-directed placement changes.
"I just need my trash picked up," Artisone said, presenting an aerial map of her property and a letter she said was from Jason Denatty. She told the board the parcel’s trash cans had been moved to a location she did not choose, that neighbors and her mail carrier had reported access and safety problems, and that trash was not being collected where she expected after following staff instructions.
Artisone asked whether the author of the letter, Jason Denatty, still worked with the district and said she did not object to a different pickup location so long as collection occurs reliably. The public comment ended after the three-minute allotment; she said she would return for the next meeting if the issue is unresolved.
The board did not take an immediate operational action on the comment during the meeting record; members moved on to agenda business following the public comment period.
The comment highlights a service delivery dispute about collection locations and a resident report of safety and mailbox-access concerns. The district’s staff received the map and the letter during the comment but did not state a timeline for follow-up in the meeting minutes.
