Pembroke board readies water-district bond and notes sewer hookup for Alleghany Road apartments

Attorney Mark Boylan is preparing the necessary filings with bond counsel; once the resolution for District No. 5 is passed, both Water Districts 4 and 5 “should be ready to go out to bid this fall,” Schneider said. The board did not set a vote date for that bond resolution during the Aug. 8 meeting but Schneider indicated the procedural steps are underway.
On sewer infrastructure, Schneider reported that the sewer connection at the road has been installed for the apartment complex on Alleghany Road, a development detail the town has been tracking as part of local infrastructure coordination. The board’s timeline now centers on completing bond paperwork, approving a municipal bond resolution for District No. 5, and then issuing bids later this season.
Why it matters: the bond and bidding steps will determine when construction and water-service work can proceed for areas included in Districts 4 and 5; the board’s action on the bond resolution is the next formal step. The County Planning Board was scheduled to hear related zoning-law revisions for apartment complexes that evening; because Pembroke already held its public hearing, Schneider said the town board could vote on those zoning changes at its Aug. 22 meeting.
