At its July 25 meeting the Pembroke Town Board took several routine governance actions, including a fee waiver for a family fundraiser, two staffing appointments and authorization of regular payments.
Public participation: Renee and Al Emmick asked the board to waive the Community Center rental fee for a fundraiser for their daughter, Abby Marshall. The board voted unanimously to waive the fee (motion by Supervisor Thomas Schneider; seconded by Councilman Edward G. Arnold Jr.). The transcript records the fundraiser date inconsistently (SEG 008 lists Sept. 7; the motion recorded in SEG 009 lists Sept. 8, 2024); the board motion does not resolve that discrepancy and the minutes do not provide a definitive date.
Appointments and staffing: The board appointed James (Jim) Kirsch as Assessor for the remainder of the term vacated by Tina Rados, to expire Sept. 30, 2025, citing that the appointee meets state minimum qualifications. The minutes record that Jim Kirsch will be available to residents Wednesdays 12:00–3:30 P.M. and by evening appointment, and that Laura Kirsch, who is training to become an assessor and has access to ORPS (Office of Real Property Services), will begin in September with Monday availability 11:00 A.M.–4:00 P.M.
Finance: The board authorized the Supervisor to make the payments contained in Abstract #14; the minutes note these are normal operating expenses within the 2024 budgets. The board also appointed Laura Kirsch as part-time Clerk/Typist in the Assessor’s Office.
All votes on these items were unanimous. The meeting adjourned at 7:23 P.M.
