The council adopted updates to the city’s planning construction-permit and parklet (outdoor dining and merchandising) fee schedule on June 23. Staff proposed adding a $235 fixed zoning-clearance fee to standardize and cost-recover staff time for parcel research and a $600 fixed plan-check fee for pre-approved accessory dwelling unit (ADU) plans. The parklet fee schedule’s language was revised to explicitly accommodate outdoor dining and merchandising while keeping existing fee levels; staff explained the lower fee for closures reflects differences in parking impacts.
