Commissioners table motor grader bid after vendor objects to selection

Natrona County on March 17 tabled the Road and Bridge award for a 2026 motor grader after representatives from RDO objected to the county's selection process and asked for time to provide written documentation.
Road and Bridge Superintendent Mike Haigler explained the selection process and addressed the reasoning for choosing the higher-priced bid from WY Machinery Company. Jeff Eastwood, RDO General Manager, and Jason Camp, RDO Regional Sales Manager, spoke in opposition to the award, saying there were discrepancies in the bid comparisons and requesting the award be tabled until those discrepancies could be addressed in writing.
Commissioner Casey Coates moved to table the award for two weeks to allow RDO to submit a written explanation; Commissioner Dallas Laird seconded the motion and it carried. County staff and vendors may provide written materials during the two-week period; further action will be scheduled when the board reconvenes that item.
