Staff also projected annual energy savings from a smart controls package at roughly $18,000 a year for the entire building and offered to return exact bid figures to the commission during budget deliberations. Commissioners said they supported submitting the grant application to pursue energy‑efficiency funding but reserved final funding and project scope for the budget process.
