Public Health reports school screenings, maternal services and coordinated community-health planning

Public Health Director Erin Cross briefed the Carbon County commissioners on the department’s quarterly activities on Feb. 12.
Cross said staff completed senior-center visits, school vision screenings, school vaccine visits and lice checks, and continued maternal-child services and case management follow-ups. Cross also reported ongoing staff trainings and shadowing, issuance of car-seat installation certificates, and the organization of a Task Force focused on financial assistance coordination.
Cross told the board that Public Health is coordinating a Community Health Needs Assessment and a Community Health Improvement Plan with Beartooth Billings Clinic. She said a meeting is scheduled for Feb. 20 with Bridgemont Health to discuss communication among each organization’s care coordinators and case managers.
Cross left the meeting after her update; no formal board action was recorded on the Public Health report.
