Carbon County Commissioners on Feb. 3 approved abatement services to remove asbestos-containing mastic found under vinyl composition tile at the Consolidated Campus Project. Kevin Feldman of Cushing Terrell explained that a Hygenics assessment identified asbestos in the mastic beneath VCT flooring.
Commissioner Bill Bullock moved to approve the proposal from Environmental Contractors LLC for abatement services; Commissioner Scott Miller seconded the motion, which carried. The minutes record the total cost to remove the asbestos as $61,860.
