Red Oak council approves claims, ordinance readings, surplus equipment and final plat in unanimous votes

The Red Oak City Council on Oct. 21 voted unanimously to approve a set of routine measures, including city claims and utility deposit refunds, ordinance readings, surplus declarations and a final plat.
Council approved Oct. 21 city claims totaling $338,609.92 and utility deposit refunds of $985.12. The consent agenda (including council minutes and library board minutes) was approved by motion. Council advanced Ordinance #638 (Cemetery Management) on its second of three readings and approved Ordinance #639 (Floodplain Management) on its first of three readings.
The council declared a Red Oak Fire Department brush truck and an ambulance surplus under Resolution 2024-63; the department treasurer spoke about the surplus prior to the vote. Council also approved Resolution 2024-64 adopting the Woodland Hills II Final Plat and Resolution 2024-65 allowing internal fund transfers. The council approved Resolution 2024-62 to provide a Chapter 457 retirement savings plan through ICMA.
