The Raymond select board approved a series of business and liquor licenses on June 23, granting conditional approvals for applicants that still must complete permitting and life‑safety inspections.
The board accepted the business license application for Yardie King LLC (1255 Roosevelt Trail), a takeout Jamaican food operation, but noted the owner must obtain building permits for kitchen renovations, a state food service license and a fire department life‑safety inspection before opening. “They have still got to go through the permitting process with codes to do some kitchen renovations and then will need to do a life safety inspection by the fire inspector before they open,” staff said.
A change of ownership for Forever Friends (Raymond Shopping Center, unit 16) was approved subject to the scheduled life & safety inspection and to completing any required improvements. The renewal of Fisherman’s Catch LLC’s liquor license (1270 Roosevelt Trail) was approved after staff confirmed a June 3 inspection was passed and taxes were current. Top Shelf Catering LLC’s liquor renewal was approved contingent on completing corrections cited in the June 1 life & safety inspection.
For each conditional approval, the board required applicants to produce certificates of compliance from code enforcement and fire departments before operating.
