The West Mead Township Planning Commission recommended on April 30, 2026 that the Board of Supervisors consider approving the Jeffrey and Molly Byham Subdivision Plan No. 2026-1, a proposal to separate Lot #1, a 4.785-acre parcel, from Parcel No. 3217-143 so the lot may be developed with a residential dwelling.
Debbie Smith, presenting on behalf of surveyor Mark Galbo, explained the plan and said a separate easement from Thurston Road is already shown on the plan. She also told the commission that a portion of the existing driveway could be used for access from Hunter Road; commissioners asked that that access be shown on the recorded plan and that a separate easement document be prepared and recorded to formalize the access.
Commissioner Steve Halmi noted that the commission had received and reviewed a letter from the Crawford County Planning Commission on the proposal; the minutes record that letter as received and reviewed but do not record objections. After discussion, Commissioner Jim Bucci moved and Don Goldstein seconded a motion recommending the Supervisors consider approval of the plan "pending any final changes and signatures and any other necessary requirements as recommended by the Board of Supervisors." The minutes record the result as "All Approved." The minutes do not list individual roll-call votes.
The commission's recommendation is advisory; final approval, conditions and any required signatures rest with the Board of Supervisors and any subsequent administrative review. The meeting minutes show no timetable for the Supervisors' consideration.
The commission adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
