The Okoboji City Council approved the consent agenda and set a public hearing on the proposed FY2027 property tax rate.
On a motion by Councilmember Hentges and a second by Councilmember Andres, the council approved the consent agenda — which included the Jan. 14 meeting minutes, claims and accounts payable report, bank cash report and renewal of a Class “C” retail alcohol license for Brooks Golf — by a unanimous 5-0 vote.
Mayor VanderWoude presented Resolution #26-02 to set a public hearing on the proposed property tax rate for fiscal year 2027. On a motion by Councilmember Hentges and a second by Councilmember Andres, the council set the public hearing for Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at Okoboji City Hall; the motion passed 5-0. The council also scheduled a follow-up meeting to adopt the FY2027 budget for April 28, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
Financial totals listed in the minutes show total revenues for January 2026 of $185,748.26 and total expenditures for Jan. 14–Feb. 10, 2026 of $172,243.68; the claims register with individual check details was included in the minutes.
