Saul Beaumont, chair of the Town of Natick Council on Aging (COA) Executive Subcommittee, called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2026, and the subcommittee voted to establish a Programs Workgroup to research potential new programs.
The subcommittee agreed the Programs Workgroup will be composed of COA board members who will research potential programs independently of COA staff. COA staff remain responsible for evaluating program performance and will share evaluation results with the board; members noted staff may reinstitute program-evaluation forms to support that work.
Members also discussed a Speakers Workgroup and recommended scheduling guest speakers quarterly. The group noted that the previous guest, the Fire Chief, took about 30 minutes including questions and answers and suggested allowing more time for future presentations.
The subcommittee discussed and finalized the agenda for the full COA board meeting scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026, incorporating the newly formed workgroup items and other routine business.
On a motion by Sal Pandolfo, seconded by Jim Fitzgerald, the subcommittee approved the minutes of the Dec. 1, 2025 subcommittee meeting by unanimous consent.
Members reviewed the draft minutes from the COA board meeting of Dec. 8, 2025 and requested corrections to clarify the role of the Programs Workgroup; those board minutes are scheduled for approval at the Jan. 12 COA board meeting.
The Executive Subcommittee set its next meeting for Feb. 2, 2026 at the same place and time (Conf Room 125, 12:00 p.m.). Saul Beaumont adjourned the meeting at 12:30 p.m. after a motion to adjourn from Jim Fitzgerald, seconded by Sal Pandolfo; all agreed.
The meeting minutes were drafted by Jim Fitzgerald, COA secretary.
