Olds reports 6.88% unaccounted-for water, sewer discharge started Oct. 1; permit renewal due Dec. 31

At the Oct. 9 Olds City Council meeting the clerk and utility staff reported operational metrics for September and updates on sewer permitting.
City Clerk Beverly Conrad presented monthly receipts and noted that water usage for the reporting period was 571,000 gallons and that unaccounted-for water stood at 6.88 percent. Russell Conrad provided water-fund details, and Tim Faller reported that meters were read on Sept. 21. The minutes state approximately two more meters are scheduled for installation by McCoy's and that a lead-and-copper test was taken.
On sewer matters, Jim Warner submitted a revised Facility Planning update that includes a request for a sewer pilot program and an extension of time. The meeting notes record that sewer discharge began Oct. 1 and that the sewer-permit renewal is due by Dec. 31, 2024; council members did not take formal action on permit renewal at this session.
The council instructed the clerk to research partially paid or missing invoices from LJ Roth and report back.
