Mayor Jason Waterhouse called the Nov. 13 meeting of the Olds City Council to order at 6:30 p.m. and the council approved the consent agenda, which included the agenda, the Oct. 9, 2024 minutes and the listed bills.
The council voted 5-0 (Candice Curry, Theresa Willey, Jim Rohde, Sheila Tharp and Timothy Breuer voting aye) on a motion by Councilmember Theresa Willey with a second from Councilmember Timothy Breuer to approve the consent items.
Why it matters: Regular approval of vendor payments and minutes is how the council authorizes city operations and maintains financial transparency. At this meeting the council approved $5,319.65 in Water Fund bills, $4,636.63 in City Fund bills and $3,045.21 in Sewer Fund bills, a combined total of $13,001.49.
Selected payments noted in the packet included a $2,174.40 charge from Rathbun Regional Water Association, $1,810.50 to WEMIGA for trash removal, $680.00 to the Olds Fire Department for fire protection, and testing fees to the State Hygienic Laboratory. The Clerk flagged an unresolved invoice from LJ Roth dating to 2021; staff said they are awaiting information from LJ Roth to clarify that charge.
The council set its next regular meeting for Dec. 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Olds City Hall.
