Olds City Council approves consent agenda, sets Trick-or-Treat and leaf-burning dates and advances backflow ordinance

On community scheduling and operations, the council set citywide Trick-or-Treat for Oct. 31, 2024, from 5:30–7:00 p.m., and approved leaf burning from Nov. 1–Dec. 15, 2024. The council also approved prepayment of 500 gallons of propane for City Hall and the Water Plant from Chem-Gro Olds for the 2024–25 heating season. Each measure passed on recorded 5-0 votes.
The council approved the first reading of Ordinance 03-2024 to add Chapter 5-3-30 to the Olds City Code, providing cross-contamination and backflow prevention regulations; the first reading passed on a roll call vote recorded as 5 ayes.
