Olds council approves alcohol and cigarette permits, payroll and bills; adopts sewer loan amendment

The council approved total receipts reported for June 2024 (City $7,234.67; Water $11,755.44; Sewer $8,643.14) and reviewed fund-specific bills: Water Fund $4,929.84, City Fund $5,365.22 and Sewer Fund $2,765.90. The agenda was amended earlier in the meeting to add a cigarette permit application so it could be addressed before the next meeting.
Jim Rohde moved and Timothy Breuer seconded approval of a Class E retail alcohol license (LE) for Elliot Oil Company (St. Avenue Stop), effective Aug. 13, 2024; the motion carried 5–0. Later, Timothy Breuer moved and Theresa Willey seconded approval of a cigarette permit for the same business, effective upon new ownership’s closing on Aug. 13; this motion also passed 5–0.
Council approved Res. 2024-03, which amends prior authorization for issuance of Sewer Revenue Capital Loan Notes (Series 2021) and authorizes execution of an amendment to the interim loan and disbursement agreement; motion passed 5–0. The council then moved to adjourn; the motion carried 5–0.
These decisions were recorded as unanimous (5 ayes) where roll-call tallies were given. The council did not attach additional conditions to the licenses or permits in the transcript of the meeting.
