South Vinemont council announces trail water dispenser, will study pickleball court lights; adjourns after brief work session

Mayor Radginal Dodson called the Town of South Vinemont work session to order on June 10 and reviewed attendance before the council approved the minutes and financial reports with no questions.
The meeting’s principal announcements focused on parks and community programming. Mayor Radginal Dodson told the council that a water dispenser for the walking trail and the art park had been purchased and will be installed soon. Councilmember Nina Justice requested that the mayor and council investigate installing lights at the pickleball court; Dodson said the council would look into the suggestion.
Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser relayed upcoming events to the council: Senior Citizens Day on June 16, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center; municipal election qualifying from June 10–24; a Fourth of July event on July 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Vinemont Sports Complex; and Movie Night in the Park on June 20 (movie starts at 8:00 p.m.) at the Vinemont Community Center and Art Park.
Councilmember Bonnie Goodwin moved to adjourn at 5:42 p.m.; Councilmember Nina Justice seconded the motion. The motion passed with all ayes and no nays recorded; Councilmember Grady Malone was absent. The council adjourned at 5:42 p.m.
The work session record contains no formal ordinances, contracts, or votes other than the procedural motion to adjourn. Council follow-up will include staff review of lighting options for the pickleball court and scheduling or logistics for the announced community events.
