South Vinemont council moves municipal voting location to Town Hall

Mayor Radginal Dodson introduced the ordinance to repeal the prior voting-place ordinance and to designate the Town Hall at 36 Patton Drive, Cullman, AL 35058, as the voting location for municipal elections. The ordinance states that the change was necessary because a Special Election for District 11 was scheduled at the Community Center on the same day, creating a conflict for municipal voting.
Councilor Ross Campbell moved to suspend rules that might otherwise prevent passage at the same meeting; Councilor Bonnie Goodwin seconded the motion. The council then voted on final passage of Ordinance No. 2025-04-01. On a roll call vote, Mayor Radginal Dodson and Councilors Kelley Little, Nina Justice, Ross Campbell, Bonnie Goodwin and Grady Malone all voted yes. The council declared the ordinance adopted and recorded its repeal of Ordinance No. 2020-01-01.
The ordinance states it is adopted pursuant to section 11-46-24 of the Code of Alabama and that it applies to municipal elections only. It specifies that the ordinance becomes effective following its passage, approval and publication as required by law; the minutes and recorded ordinance indicate the document was recorded on April 9, 2025, and posted on public bulletin boards from April 8, 2025, through May 8, 2025.
The council did not record extended debate or objections in the minutes for this item; the change was approved by unanimous roll call vote.
The council’s formal action now designates the Town Hall as the place voters in South Vinemont should go for municipal elections unless a future ordinance changes the location again.
