South Vinemont reviews 2025–26 budget, flags possible sewage expense for community center

Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser reviewed the Town of South Vinemont’s proposed 2025–2026 budgets at a Sept. 4 work session, saying the general fund and the municipal-park budget include increases to cover health insurance and a cost-of-living adjustment for full-time employees.
Sasser told the council that the draft budget may still require a few additional adjustments to account for community-center sewage expenses that were not yet included in the document. Discussion followed among council members about those possible additions; no formal action was taken at the work session.
The review was part of a broader presentation of new business at the meeting, which also included a review of an updated Employee Policy and Procedure Manual and estimated retirement costs for municipal employees. The council did not adopt the budget during the work session; the review was presented as part of budget preparation and further edits were foreshadowed.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Radginal Dodson at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
