Planning Commission recommends veterinary offices be treated as conditional use in Resource Protection District

During the March 7 work session commissioners reviewed the Nonresidential Development chapter, asked for a paragraph on the E Extraction District and recommended changing Veterinary Office from a permitted use to a conditional use or special exception in the RP Resource Protection District.
At the March 7 work session, BCPC staff reviewed the Nonresidential Development chapter and the East Rockhill Township Planning Commission made a zoning recommendation affecting the RP Resource Protection District.
BCPC staff member Luke Rosanova told commissioners that the Nonresidential Development chapter needed grammatical edits and should include a paragraph explaining the E Extraction District. The commission also recommended that the Veterinary Office use in the RP Resource Protection District be changed from a permitted use to a conditional use or be treated as a use by special exception, which would subject such proposals to additional review and permit conditions.
Commissioners did not adopt a formal ordinance change at the session; the discussion cataloged recommended text edits and a change in recommended zoning treatment that BCPC staff will reflect in the draft chapter for future review. No votes were recorded at the work session on the recommendation.
BCPC will incorporate the suggested edits and return with revised language for the commission to consider at a subsequent meeting.
