Commission asks BCPC to clarify historic‑resource language, evaluate Lake House Inn and add survey charts

At the April 4 work session, BCPC staff presented the Historic and Scenic Resources chapter and results from the township residential survey, and the Planning Commission requested specific clarifications and presentation changes.
Bryn‑Erin Kerr of BCPC reviewed the Historic and Scenic Resources chapter. The Commission asked that the chapter make clear where Rockhill Station village is located and recommended that BCPC investigate whether the Lake House Inn meets local criteria for historic designation. Ms. Kerr said she would add language describing qualifications for a historic building and the Commission suggested removing a paragraph that connected Hagersville to Perkasie via 5th Street.
BCPC staff member Luke Rosanova presented the residential survey findings. Commissioners requested that Rosanova add a chart showing where township residents live (using census data) and produce a table and chart to clarify results for question 9 (the relative importance of listed issues to East Rockhill’s future). They also asked for a chart summarizing responses to question 12, which asks respondents to rate the current quality of services in the township.
BCPC staff indicated they will add the requested explanatory language to the Historic and Scenic Resources chapter and add the tables and charts to the survey materials. There were no formal votes recorded on these edits during the session; the meeting adjourned at approximately 8:50 p.m.
