Commissioners said they were prepared to move forward and record the amount in Tuesday’s minutes.
Moody sewer and Kelly Creek Road: staff said a recent private sewer installation on Kelly Creek Road deviated from plan locations; the installer told the county that it would, at its cost, relocate lines when the road is widened. County engineers asked for a written agreement to that commitment and said some utility alignments currently encroach on the county right‑of‑way.
Raglin Water relocation reimbursement: staff reminded the commission the county agreed to reimburse Raglin Water for line relocation connected to a bridge replacement on County Road 21. Bids and project costs have increased since initial estimates; staff discussed a partial payment request (figures discussed in the meeting included a partial payment near $63,900 and total project cost increases from ~$149,000 to as much as ~$203,000). Commissioners affirmed the original reimbursement commitment but asked staff to document exact numbers before final payment.
Pel City courthouse space and architect work: property manager Rody Wolf and facilities staff presented conceptual drawings for adding usable office/storage space in the existing courthouse footprint. Staff asked architect Jason and county engineers to produce more detailed drawings and cost estimates to evaluate building within the existing structure rather than constructing new buildings.
Other items: the county has a pending $10,000 proposal from Good Game for architectural drawings tied to the detention facility project; commissioners said the PO and amounts will be recorded and reviewed Tuesday, and that architectural drawings will be used for bidding construction phases.
Next steps: staff will prepare contract paperwork for Kelly Creek Road funding, obtain written relocation/indemnity agreements for Moody/utility work, clarify Raglin Water invoice details and prepare engineering schematics and cost estimates for courthouse space proposals.
