City Administrator Scott gave a brief update on the city's solid waste and recycling transition during his administrator's report. He said the current hauler's last collection for recycling will be Dec. 24 and its last solid waste collection Dec. 31. Scott said the new hauler, SNJ, will deliver new carts the week of Dec. 15-19, creating a short overlap while some households have both sets of containers.
Scott and council members discussed outreach: SNJ will send a mailer, staff will post pinned notices on social media, and the city will provide a community cardboard dumpster at city hall with a lid for broken-down cardboard. Council emphasized clear, repeated communication with residents before and during the transition.
No formal council action was required; staff will coordinate SNJ mailings and local outreach.
