Papillion Planning Commission continues redevelopment plan, elects chair and vice chair

The Papillion Planning Commission on June 24 voted unanimously to continue public hearing consideration of a redevelopment plan (MISC260018) after the applicant requested more time to finalize construction numbers.
During the public-hearing portion of the meeting the applicant said final construction figures were not yet solidified and asked the commission to keep the hearing open and continue consideration. A motion to continue MISC260018 was moved, seconded and approved by a 7-0 voice vote.
The commission then proceeded with internal elections. Nominations opened for chair; Commissioner Hunter nominated Raymond Keller, and Keller accepted the nomination. Nominations were closed and the commission cast ballots; the body approved the election results by voice vote and then formally approved the results (recorded as unanimous).
Nominations for vice chair followed. Howard Carson was nominated and, with no other candidates, was elected by voice vote; the commission approved the election results unanimously. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn passed by voice vote.
Next steps: the redevelopment-plan hearing remains open pending applicant revisions; the commission will forward recommendations and any future votes to the Papillion City Council as appropriate.
