Union City Council approves routine business, accepts EACOG audit and schedules public hearing

At its Aug. 27 meeting, Union City Council approved agenda items, minutes, the Secretary’s Report and bills, accepted the EACOG audit by resolution, decided not to advertise for towing bids, scheduled a Sept. 16 public hearing on a zoning amendment, and adjourned at 6:19 P.M.
Union City Borough Council completed routine municipal business and several administrative items at its Aug. 27 meeting in First Global Methodist Church. Motions approving the agenda, minutes from the Aug. 13 meeting, the Secretary’s Report and payment of bills were each moved and seconded and carried unanimously.
Manager Cindy Wells reported a variety of upcoming events and deadlines, including an Erie County Planning EMS meeting Aug. 28, Devereaux Day on Sept. 13 promoting park and trail improvements, a Council meeting and public hearing on a Zoning Ordinance amendment on Sept. 16, and a Sept. 25 health insurance presentation for Council members. Wells also announced free Community Emergency Response Team training on Sept. 27–29 and the UPMC Hamot/Erie County Firefighters Association Safety Awards Dinner on Sept. 27.
On administrative items, Council opted not to advertise for towing bids and moved to pass a resolution accepting the Erie Area Council of Governments (EACOG) audit report as presented; the audit motion was moved by Councilor Osborn, seconded by Councilor Steadman, and carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:19 P.M. on a motion by Councilor Osborn, seconded by Councilor Kerns.
