He told Council he will reach out to the hiring consortium, where 32 candidates currently appear on the list, and will check with the Civil Service Commission to schedule oral exams.
Pernice said he would ultimately prefer to hire two part‑time officers, but noted that only one part‑time position had been approved by Council. He said he will send letters to candidates and follow Civil Service procedures for testing. Council agreed to continue a search for one approved part‑time officer.
