The Rowan City Council handled routine business at its Feb. 2 session, approving January meeting minutes and payment of vouchers, renewing the gambling license that expires this month and recording February expenditures and January receipts.
Council approved the consent items by unanimous vote, including a motion by Mark Bruns to approve bills and payments with a second from Chad Ketchum. The clerk reported February vendor payments and January receipts including utilities revenue of $8,735.12 and LOST receipts of $1,315.68.
Separately, Councilmember Mark Bruns moved to approve the FY27 property tax levy as presented; the motion carried unanimously. The council set a public hearing on the proposed levy for March 23, 2026, at 6 p.m. and scheduled a special meeting the same night at 6:30 p.m. to set the full FY27 budget.
