At the May 14 meeting, the Beaman City Council discussed demolition and asbestos removal plans for the property at 209 Main Street and approved posting a request for proposals (RFP) for those services.
Council members agreed that a preliminary cleanout of the property was not necessary prior to demolition after receiving guidance; Barry Brockman moved and Deb Ashton seconded to approve posting the RFP as presented, and the motion passed unanimously. Clerk Denise Hoy will coordinate RFP dates and the public posting process.
The council did not finalize a contractor at the meeting and did not set a demolition date; those steps will follow the RFP and contractor selection process.
