The Beaman City Council at its March 12 meeting discussed personnel changes and approved several small expenditures. Council members recorded that longtime contractor/employee Randy Daniel plans to retire July 1, 2025, and the council discussed having Dave Moorman take over Daniel’s duties; Moorman agreed to the wages the council set at a March 2 special meeting.
Council also authorized spending up to $1,000 to repair the ceiling at the Beaman Memorial Building, with Council Member Deb Ashton coordinating the work. The council assigned Council Member Jason Scafferi to prepare specifications to clean out the property at 209 Main Street.
On procurement, the council accepted a quote from KWD LLC for $7,200 with an alternative option to purchase fill for $1,400 if needed; the motion to accept the quote passed with a unanimous recorded vote. City Clerk Denise Hoy reported that INRCOG is working with local banks to discuss financing under the Homes for Iowa program; no financing agreements were reported.
The council adjourned after completing the listed business.
