Beaman council approves pickleball court extension, rust inhibitor and color change

At its May 14 meeting, the Beaman City Council approved the engineered plans to extend the community pickleball court and authorized related changes recommended by the Wolf Creek Pickleball Committee. Presenters Chad Dielschneider, Les Coulter and Ryan Ashton updated the council on project progress and design recommendations.
Council member Brandon Schleisman moved and Jason Scafferi seconded a motion to use the engineered plans for a concrete extension; the motion passed on a 4–0 vote. The council then approved an additional expense to include a rust inhibitor in the court paint, and separately approved changing the outside paint perimeter from green to gray based on the committee’s recommendation; both motions passed 4–0.
The approvals allow project contractors to proceed under the engineered plans and with the specified materials. The council did not discuss a new project timeline in detail at the meeting; project funding was handled through the consent-of-expenses packet. Clerk Denise Hoy will incorporate the approvals into procurement and contracting steps.
